Directions:
From Parks Highway (MP 114.9) turn west on Petersville Road. 1.5 miles down Petersville Road look on left for orange trail markers at driveway.
Procedures:
- The main house is a little ways from the dog lot so a plastic sled for hauling your coolers can be left with your drop bags for your use.
- We will have a couple of boy scouts to help with showing folks where things are and to help move food drops back to the yard.
- There is a turn around for food drop off/dog pick up only.
- Parking is limited and for short term only at Jims house.
- Long term parking will be available at the Lutheran church on the left two driveways before Jims. (we will have it marked with a trail plate). Do not block the road that leads into the parking lot/continues on further.
- Straw can be left at the dog parking spots at jims. Poop and garbage must be scooped. Burnables can be thrown in the bonfire.
- NO BOOTS IN THE HOUSE.
- No handlers in the house.
- We will have a bonfire out near the dog lot for folks to warm/socialize.
- We will have cold water available for dogs and humans.
- Stew is available throughout the evening at the main house for mushers and volunteers. Mushers are on their own for breakfast.
- NO ONE IS ALLOWED NEAR THE HORSE (she is friendly but it is an insurance issue so horse is off limits to all).
- There is no outhouse but a trail will be broken through an area that provides privacy in the woods. If desired we can set up a tarp with a bucket.
- Food drops/straw can be dropped off any time on Friday.
- The yard is set up for a straight in and straight out as a loop.
- There are several restaurants in the area for the handlers to get food snacks—The Trading post, the Trapper Creek Inn (Tesoro), the Pizza place etc.
